International Off-campus Instructional Sites
A university who opens their first international site will require a substantive change committee visit. Subsequent International sites may include authorization of a substantive change committee visit at the discretion of the SACSCOC Board of Trustees. The following are considerations when determining if a committee visit will be required:
- institution's experience managing off-campus instructional sites
- institution's experience managing international off-campus instructional sites in the proposed country or territory
- known issues based on prior accreditation reviews suggesting institutional challenges to providing effective oversight of the off-campus instructional site
- feasibility of visiting the site as part of a Fifth-year Interim Review or Reaffirmation within two years of approval of the site
Other off-campus committee requirements such as approval of a site as a branch campus or approval of institutions first three sites supersedes an optional instructional site visit.
