Siren's Scream; Resin, (5000) hand cut paper pieces, wood; 50 x 68 x 6 in.; 01/20/2022
4 layers of resin hold over 2000 pieces of hand cut hand glued paper, french cleats will keep it on the wall (sheetrock cannot support the weight), and behind the piece is the evidence of a frankensteined board that is slowly, through the metamorphosis of layers of resin, strengthened and increased with sheen. Vogue bags with vogue posed arms, football players holding kittens, flowers and screams, and others are collaged together and glitched. The framing devices screams vibes of sculptures found in family's home of Honduras specifically Copan, this frame has the original collage cut and glued back into the frame with the remains of the body piece's glued on top and sealed with resin to unite the body and framing device. A version of “Step Up”, when installed, is wedged behind the piece inviting the viewer in to see further behind the opacity of existing surface deep.
Hear Us Roar; Acrylic, Ink, Paper, Resin, Wood; 25.5 x 19.5 x 1.5 in; 05/04/2024
Glitchscape colors fling through the negative space dancing around the figure as its’ code is concealed to the left. The DNA blocks of the defiant figure melt away from the Glitch no longer able to keep up to momentum of agency and autonomy.
Step Up; Shoes, Resin; 12 x 14 x 13 in; 02/04/2022
Taking two pairs of shoes, a “women's” stiletto from Charlotte Russe and “men's” Nike Alpha football cleats and incising and reconfiguring both into an intertwined one with resin poured on and inside rendering them unwearable wearables tapping into society's tendency to deny such fusions
